Mirka was fed up watching husband play | Shocking Truth behind Roger Federer’s retirement
Roger Federer recently revealed that his wife Mirka didn’t enjoy watching him play tennis anymore. This has been one of shocking revelations from Roger Federer post his retirement.
The 41-year-old Swiss maestro had earlier explained that his decision to rest his racquet from professional tennis and bring his glittering career to an end was in light of his recent recurring injuries.
Federer, who has won twently Grand Slam titles including a record 8 Wimbledon championships, hung up his boots after the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup.
In an interview with Swiss news outlet Blick, the 2008 Olympic doubles gold medallist revealed how his partner Mirka has struggled to watch him in recent years.
Mirka, who was habitually spotted in the stands encouraging on her beau, had to retire herself from tennis in 2002 due to a stubborn foot injury.
Federer had once stated that the last few years had not only been tough for him, but it had been even tougher for his wife, Mirka.
Mirka, due to all her injuries didn’t enjoy watching Roger Federer play anymore. Federer was not happy with this situation and felt sorry for her too.
It is apparently a great relief for Mirka, now that Federer’s retirement is done.
In an isolated interview with BBC Sport, Roger Federer has revealed how he was forced into declaring his retirement earlier than planned after learning of a leak. He was upset that despite his best efforts to keep that decision private the leaks couldn’t be avoided.
